Terms & Conditions

Version 2026-07-12 · Please read these terms carefully. They include important limits on our liability.

1. Who we are

Sproglings ("we", "us", "our") provides an online family organiser for managing tasks, shopping lists, calendars, reminders and reward charts (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you ("you", the "user") agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Your account & your family

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and be the bill payer. A "family" is a single shared workspace. The person who creates the family is its "owner" and is responsible for the subscription and payment. Adults you invite get their own login; children are view-only profiles with no login and no email. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account, and for any personal data (including children's data) that you add.

3. Free trial

New families get a 14-day free trial with no payment card required. You can use the Service in full during the trial. We will not charge you unless you choose to subscribe.

4. Subscriptions, pricing & renewals

After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription, currently £3.99 / month or £42.00 / year (annual, discounted). Prices include VAT where applicable. Your subscription renews automatically on its anniversary date — the same date each month for a monthly plan, or the same date each year for an annual plan — at the then-current price, until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe; by subscribing you also agree to Stripe's terms. We may change our prices from time to time; any change applies from your next renewal, never mid-term. For existing subscribers we'll give at least 30 days' notice by email before a new price takes effect, and you're free to cancel before then if you don't wish to continue at the new price. Trial and promotional prices are not guaranteed to renew at the same rate.

Failed or missed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe automatically retries it over a short period, and your access continues during those attempts. If payment still cannot be collected, your subscription lapses in the same way as a cancellation: your data becomes read-only for 14 days and is then locked. You can restore full access at any time before deletion by updating your card details and paying.

5. Cancelling & refunds

You can cancel at any time from the billing area. When you cancel, your subscription simply does not renew on its next anniversary date — it stays active until the end of the term you've already paid for, so you keep full access until then. As a consumer you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel a new subscription from the day it starts. After that 14-day period, payments are non-refundable once a billing term has begun — cancelling part-way through a month or year does not entitle you to a refund for the remainder of that term; instead your access continues to its end. If you cancel or stop paying, your data then becomes read-only for 14 days and is afterwards locked; you can delete your account (and its data) at any time.

6. Acceptable use, suspension & termination

You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt to gain unauthorised access, upload unlawful or infringing content, or use it in any way that harms us or other users.

We may suspend or end your subscription or account: (a) immediately and without refund if you materially breach these terms or misuse the Service; or (b) for any other reason at our discretion, on reasonable prior notice — and where we end a paid subscription under (b) with no breach by you, we will refund a pro-rata part of any fees you have paid for the period after termination. On termination your access ends and your data is handled as described in these terms and our Privacy Policy.

7. The Service is an aid, not a guarantee

Sproglings is a convenience tool to help you organise tasks, events and reminders. It is not a guaranteed reminder or notification service and must not be relied upon as your sole method of remembering anything important. Reminders, notifications, emails and calendar entries may be delayed, missed, or not delivered for reasons including device settings, email/spam filtering, connectivity, third-party providers, or scheduled maintenance and outages. You remain solely responsible for your own appointments, commitments, medication, deadlines and tasks. Always keep an independent record of anything critical.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, and carry out maintenance, at any time.

9. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind;
  • we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from a missed, delayed or undelivered reminder, notification or calendar entry, or from any task, appointment or event you forgot, missed or relied on the Service for;
  • we are not liable for indirect, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, opportunity, data or goodwill; and
  • our total liability to you for any and all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the total amount you paid us for the Service in that period.

10. Your data & privacy

We process personal data in line with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to add any other person's information (including children in your family) to the Service.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we'll ask you to accept the updated terms before you continue using the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also have rights under the law of the part of the UK where you live.
